| What is a NAP? |
The NAPS (Network Access Points), also known as IXs (Internet Exchanges), are fundamental components of the Internet. By means of a NAP, traffic from various entities (carriers, access providers, government entities, academic networks, etc.) is exchanged.
These neuralgic network points have been constructed worldwide, following diverse institutional, topographical and operational schematics. Nonetheless, the majority of these pursue identical objectives: make Internet routing more efficient, improve quality of service and minimize interconnection costs.
